Other Services We Offer
TeksMed is more than disability management—TeksMed has the complete solution. Our client relationship managers are happy to assist in any way: employer/employee orientations, overviews of experience rating programs, best practices for return to work, and much more! Below is a list of additional services TeksMed is able to bring our clients
Functional Capacity Evaluation – FCE
Absence Management Services – AMS
Independent Medical Evaluations – IME
Claim Cost Recovery
TeksMed will perform a thorough review of your organization’s historical workers’ compensation claims, and will pursue previously overlooked cost relief opportunities, appealing for decisions that will result in greater savings for your business. When TeksMed achieves savings for your organization, a percentage of those cost recoveries is paid to TeksMed as the fees for the work performed. Risk free—don’t pay unless savings are achieved!
Absence Management Services – AMS
Employees who are absent from the office on sick leave, mental stress, short term disability or long term disability leave employers out of pocket. These costs go beyond the price to pay the employee’s salary for time to recover. Considering lost productivity, temporary replacement staff and the immeasurable cost of decreased employee morale, employee absence becomes a costly problem. Your solution to controlling employee absence is AMS!
Surveillance
How can you tell when your employee is genuinely injured and unable to work? The note from the employee’s doctor has the last word, right? Catching workers’ compensation fraudsters in the act is a very strong deterrent with other employees who might otherwise have contemplated making fake claims of work-related injury. Upon employer’s request, TeksMed can set up surveillance evidence to have a questionable claim shut down.
Functional Capacity Evaluation – FCE
An FCE is set of tests, practices, and observations that are combined to determine the ability of the evaluated employee to function in a variety of circumstances (most often work), in an objective manner. Physicians change diagnoses based on FCEs. In determining appropriate suitable modified duties, FCEs are critical.
Management Consulting
Meet with one of our client relationship managers who will review your company’s experience rating history and overall performance in efforts to assist you in developing a strategic approach to injury management and prevention. Your consultation will be complimented by a detailed summary report.
Independent Medical Evaluations – IME
IMEs may be conducted to determine the cause, extent and medical treatment of a work-related or other injury where liability is at issue, whether an individual has reached maximum benefit from treatment, and whether any permanent impairment remains after treatment. An IME may be conducted at the request of an employer or an insurance carrier to obtain an independent opinion of the clinical status of the individual. Workers’ compensation insurance carriers, auto insurance carriers, and self-insured employers have a legal right to this request. Should the doctor/therapist performing the IME conclude that a patient’s medical condition is not related to a compensable event, the insurer may deny the claim and refuse payment.
